Although news of Mario Testino’s book featuring his favourite muse, supermodel Kate Moss, has been around since 2010, publication of the paperback version of the lavish Taschen volume won’t be till this month in the UK. It’s heading to New Zealand through New Holland Publishers in April, at the price of NZ$150.
It’s astounding value when you consider that the original hardcover edition, in an acrylic box, retailed at £900 (£850 if you order through this link; and US$1,500 Stateside—available here via Amazon) and was a strict limited edition of 1,500, numbered and signed by the artist.
Kate Moss by Mario Testino is, according to the distributor, an ‘iconic collaboration’ and an ‘intimate insight into the lives and minds of two of the world’s definitive style leaders.’
The book begins with Moss’s early days backstages to some of her magazine editorials. Exclusive images appear, as well as an essay by Moss.
This latest edition is in softcover, the 228 pp. volume measures 287 mm by 396 mm.
Its US publication date is also April 1, where it will retail for US$70 (for US readers, US$38·17 if ordered through here). In the UK, it retails for £44·99 (a little less via Amazon UK, at £38·24).
