With her eyes shut, Lady Gaga, at the MTV Video Music Aid Japan benefit show, told Japanese fans to ‘never give up on the dream of Japan, never give up on the dream of its people, and never give up on the dream of the future.’
The show raised funds for the Japanese Red Cross, after the devastation of the M9 earthquake and tsunami on March 11.
The event was broadcast live from Makuhari Messe on MTV in Japan, Korea, China and Southeast Asia. Other MTV channels will air a one-hour version on July 29 as part of MTV World Stage.
Opening the event, Gaga performed ‘The Edge of Glory’ and ‘Born This Way’.
She will stay in Japan till July 1, says ITN.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Aniston goes brunette and plays a randy dentist engaging in sexual harassment in Horrible Bosses. The former Friends actress co-stars with Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day, Colin Farrell and Kevin Spacey. Seth Gordon, director of The King of Kong: a Fistful of Quarters, and who has worked on numerous comedy programmes, directs. The movie opens in the US on July 8, and in the UK on July 22.
