Lucire’s Instagram round-up, January 17

News

January 17, 2014/8.59

This week has been full of fun and festive events and the fashion Instagram round-up this week reflects that. The first event this week was, of course, the Golden Globes. The Globes bring out the big guns of red carpet attire. My best dressed of the event was nominated actress from 12 Years a Slave, Lupita Nyong’o. Nupito wore a stunning, fiery-red dress with an attached cape and bare shoulders. This was paired with her usual stunning make-up, which included a matching red lip and gold eye. In awe of her style at the Globes, I have picked this snap, ’grammed by Vogue Brasil, of a few of her bright-and-beautiful red carpet looks from the last few months, including of the Globes’ gown. I love a girl who isn’t afraid of colour, and looks awesome in it also.
Another exciting event in the fashion world this week was the Stylight Fashion Blogger Awards. Here, I have an Instagram pic from Lucire’s own Instagram from this event. The image depicts Kristina Bazan looking über-chic in what appears to be a black oversized T, paired with a breastplate-style metal choker, a tousled mane, and smoky eyes.
Last, but certainly not least, was Lucire’s current model obsession Bambi Northwood-Blyth’s wedding! This event took place in the beautiful Byron Bay in Australia, in an outdoor ceremony. Because I think it’s just too cute, I felt compelled to include not one, but two pics of her this week. The first is of her and her new husband, Dan Single, during the ceremony: they both look unbelievably radiant in white. Bambi’s dress is probably the most beautiful wedding dress I have ever seen, no exaggeration. Bambi was lucky enough receive her dress as a gift from designer Roberto Cavalli and Dan wears a dapper Tom Ford suit. The other image I included, which is also from Bambi’s own Instagram, is of another wedding-weekend activity she did, surfing. She looks super-cool in a wetsuit muscle-back, bikini bottoms and a festive floral headpiece. Congrats, Dan and Bambi!
Also beachin’ it up this week is my personal favourite fashion icon, Miroslava Duma. The Russian “it” girl looks so, so glam in a striped two-piece, a black headscarf and sunnies, even when surrounded by her children’s toys. I am getting hugely behind her nautical look. The second beach-goer is Harper & Harley’s Sara Donaldson. Sara looks super-natural and relaxed in a strapless bikini top and chic black sunnies. This beach look lets her ridiculously glowing skin show even more than usual, lucky lady.
Another lady with skin to envy is up-and-coming model Malaika Firth. She posts a mid-shoot image of her looking super-stunning and fresh-faced, wearing a hippie-ish gold bangle and a purple patterned scarf. I love her low-key, relaxed look.
For my own style shot this week, I couldn’t help but include a photo of me during a style profile shoot of my friend, Sarah. This shoot, for my blog, Annabohemio, was encapsulating Sarah’s unique, simple day-to-day style, shot at a local park. Here, I lie among many of the Polaroid photographs wearing Nudie jeans, no shoes and a vintage T. I’m very snap-happy. And that’s a wrap!—Anna Deans
