Singer–songwriter Amy Winehouse, 27, has been found dead at her London home. In the footage below, her body has been taken from her flat, to the shock of mourners who had been surrounding her Camden home since the news broke several hours ago.
Her death has received huge media attention, with photographers taking images of the body bag and the private ambulance as it pulled away.
Winehouse’s final on-stage performance was for her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield. She had made a surprise visit to see Bromfield on Wednesday.
Winehouse’s incredible musical career, which had seen her compared to greats such as Nina Simone, was overshadowed by her private life, namely a drinking and drug problem, which had seen her go into rehab.
During her very brief career, she had received two Mercury Music Prize nominations, and won the Ivor Novello song-writing award, the Brit Award for best British female artist, the Mojo Award for song of the year, and an MTV award for artist of the year.
