US model and reality show star Jordyn Woods has teamed up with Chinese online retailer Shein, presenting a curated collection.
Previously Woods had collaborated with Boohoo.com on a clothing line, and with her friend Kylie Jenner on a cosmetics’ collection.
The Shein × Jordyn Woods collection for autumn–winter 2022–3 has been inspired by the Moulin Rouge as well as Woods’s own æshetic.
‘I have really loved working with Shein on this collection,’ said Woods. ‘It fits my style perfectly and I can’t wait to see people wearing it.’
Prices are expectedly low, beginning at US$7 for a scoop-neck T-shirt to US$47 for a belted trench coat.
Shein has come under criticism for its fast fashion, opaque labour and recycling practices, and copyright infringement. The company responded by issuing a sustainability and social impact report earlier this year, which was honest enough to highlight that there were ‘major risks’ from 83 per cent of its 700 suppliers and 12 per cent committed ‘zero-tolerance violations’. It says it would address the issues.
