Dyson has launched a new hairdryer, announcing that it has been used professionally backstage at New York Fashion Week at Christian Siriano (by Lucy Redway) and Prabal Guring’s fall 2024 shows. It will also be used in London, Paris and Milano.
The Dyson Supersonic r is the company’s lightest (at 325 g), smallest and most precise styling tool. Its technology allows the motor and heater to adjust to deliver optimal airflow and temperature, with air temperature measured 20 times a second.
Dyson aimed to create a dryer that prevents heat damage for healthier hair. The heater itself is small and power-dense, using 28 99·9 per cent copper microfins that transfer heat evenly into the airflow.
