The Christchurch Cluster is a photography exhibition with a point of difference—many of the 25 contributing photographers met each other for the first time on opening night. This is because The Christchurch Cluster is actually an online community, started by Frank Sew Atjon and formed through the website Flickr, a place where photographers are able to publish their photographs and support each other creatively.
Currently on show in the Garden City, the exhibition is essentially the coming together of like-minded, creativly motivated, local Christchurch photographers. It started when a member of The Christchurch Cluster challenged other members of the group to share their creations with the wider community, and what resulted was an exhibition showcasing 25 works, with each contributor putting forward their best image.
The Christchurch Cluster is currently on show at Silvan Gallery and will be running until April 30. You can find Silvan Gallery at 320 Selwyn Street, Christchurch, New Zealand.
