We had a nice message on our Facebook page from a site called The Luxury Hub. Apparently, we’ve been nominated for the ‘Luxplosion 2010’ awards under the Lifestyle–Haute Living category, and to get into their top five, we need readers to re-nominate us. So, if you have time, head over to theluxuryhub.com/luxplosion-2010/, select Lifestyle as the category and Haute Living as the sub-category, and enter http://lucire.com as the URL. The rest should be self-explanatory and refreshingly, there’s no “sign up to nominate” requirement.
Artistspringboard.com is a new UK-based boutique promoting emerging designer talent and fashion artists. There’s a retail element to the site, plus a blog which features a stylist of the week. Right now, the subject is Isobel Kershaw, a celebrity stylist based in London.
We’ve also heard from Samira at All About Models, an 18-month-old German website reporting on modelling and fashion news. We’ve since added it to our directory as it looks to be a good resource with a European perspective.
Meanwhile, if you haven’t checked them out, Sopheak Seng has been going through his picks for the New Zealand autumn–winter 2011 collections. We loved Nom D, even when some of our colleagues didn’t; Stolen Girlfriends and Sera Lilly were enjoyable; and Blak Luxe and Huffer were two of the strongest showings for the season. That leaves Zambesi, and we’ll have our picks from its autumn–winter ’11 collection very soon.
Sopheak also gives his run-down on the Chanel spring–summer 2011 beauty collection.
And remember last night’s report on Katie Holmes being the face of Ann Taylor? We were a bit envious that The Hollywood Reporter had the exclusive image: it’s taken us a few more hours to get ours. Here it is:
Tom Munro
Holmes says on the Ann Taylor blog: ‘I’ve been a fan of Ann Taylor since I was a young girl. I grew up loving the clothes … and am really excited to be the face of Ann Taylor for the spring season. I am thrilled to be part of a brand I believe in.’
